Forgot to mention.....

I had deep fried oreos last weekend. They were.....delicious. Heather and I went to dinner with my brother, my sister-in-law, and their chubby little baby Will. We had beers and bar food and talked while Will tossed his toys all over the restaurant and all the other customers picked them up and brought them back, saying, Ahh he's such a sweetie. Then my brother wanted to order a dessert, and he picked out fried oreos. They came in a bowl - about five of them, dipped in sweet batter, deep fried, covered with ice cream and chocolate syrup. And they were truly delicious.

I had tried fried twinkies once before, at a place called Mulligan's, that also served something called a hamdog which consists of a hamburger wrapped around a hot dog, breaded, deep fried, covered with chili, cheese and onions and topped with a fried egg and fries. I thought of the fried twinkies as something of a novelty item. I guess I would have thought the same of the oreos.

Except....I was out with some friends on Saturday, and one of my friends mentioned that she has her very own deep fryer. She said fried snickers are good, and that you bread them with funnel cake batter! She's done fried twinkies and fried oreos, too. AND, I think she'd really like to try a deep fried cupcake. So we're going to have a frying party.
